There are plenty of great resources on the Mindframe website to help you talk to the media including:
- Tools for working with the media
- Proactively working with the media
- A guide for speaking publicly about suicide
You should also contact journalists and media outlets publishing and broadcasting in languages other than English.
That’s because people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, especially newer arrivals, might be reading, viewing or hearing news and information in their language rather than in English.
Multicultural NSW is a good place to get contacts, help and ideas.
Don’t forget that lots of information is exchanged and conversations also take place via social media or social networking sites such as Facebook. It’s a good idea to make sure that information and those conversations are safe, helpful and responsible.
